Every Kirk frame is designed and built for its owner and there are no stock Kirks sitting in boxes waiting to be shipped. I offer a range of bikes including road, cross, track, fixed gear road, sport bikes and tandems. I build exclusively in steel and offer both lugged and fillet brazed construction. For details on the specifications and design philosophy of Kirk frames, see the design page.
What kind of Kirk frame is right for me?
There are two possible directions to take when having a Kirk frame built. The first isfull custom which includes tubing selected specifically for you, paired with lugs or fillet brazed joints. This approach allows for a high level of customization. If you are interested in a road fixed gear or a sport bike set up for wide tires, rack or fenders then this is the way to go.
JK Series
The other direction is the JK Series framesets which are my highest performance offerings. These race bikes are constructed with a cost-is-no-object selection of the lightest and strongest main tubes on the market as well as chain stays and seat stays made exclusively for Kirk and the JK Series. This proprietary blend of tubes is silver brazed into lugs chosen specifically for the JK Series. These are made-to-measure race bikes pure and simple, and are not available with fender or rack mounts.
The original JK Special race bike was introduced in 2007, and I've been prototyping new designs since then. The JKS family of frames consists of four versions.
JK Special – The original Kirk Frameworks race bike. Sloped top tube and fastback seat stays.
JKS Classic – This is the newest member of the JKS family. It has a level top tube and side tack seat stays.
JKS X – A road race bike with XL tubes and fastback seat stays.
JKS Cross – Cycelocross version of the JK Special. Level top tube and side tack seat stay attachment.
Each of the JKS frames are available with curved Terraplane seat stays or traditional straight seat stays.
You may ask why are there four versions of the bike? Good question. There are four versions so that I can design and build a JK Series bike for you almost no matter what your size and aesthetic preferences.
