The JKS Classic is a traditional lugged road race bike with a level top tube and side-tack seat stays.
The newest member of the JK Special family was introduced in late 2010. The JKS Classic shares the tubing properties, geometry and race-oriented performance of the original JK Special race bike, but with a level top tube and side-tack seat stays.
Like the original JK Special, this frame uses the same proprietary tubeset that I’ve used for the past few years (a mix of Reynolds 953 and True Temper S3 main tubes and special chain and seat stays made especially for the Kirk JKS project by Reynolds). The distinguishing feature of the JKS Classic is a horizontal top tube, which is made possible by a lugset that matches my favorite sloped JKS lugset. So now you can choose your favorite look and get that same JK Special ride.
The frame comes paired with a lightweight JK Special steel fork, which is considerably lighter than the normal Kirk fork and is only available with the JK Special frames. The JKS Classic frame is offered with either traditional straight seat stays or the option of curved Terraplane seat stays for the highest possible level of performance.
Like all the frames in the JK Special family, the JKS Classic is built with innovative Triple F dropouts.
